Good luck tomorrow, Senator!

by nv1962 | Enero 2nd, 2008

Hopefully the Iowa caucus will show a return of common sense, and an appreciation of the experience, wisdom and intelligent tenacity that this country so desperately needs to shorten the curve back up from the immense mess that eight years will have wrought, not only here at home but far, far beyond.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: it’s awfully nice to speak of change - it’s far better to be able to bring that about in the right direction. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and all that jazz; these two administrations have made painfully clear what the disastrous difference is between words and deeds, between appearance and competence, between illusion and reality. True credibility is rooted in and founded upon capability, which in turn is warranted by experience, which is acquired most productively by learning from setbacks. Hands down, you’re the best equipped candidate to make that change in the right direction happen; the country doesn’t need another two-termer with on-the-job training.

At this juncture, this country doesn’t need something warm and fuzzy like “change” - it needs correction. And I very, very much hope that the wise Democrats in Iowa will rise to delegate that immensely heavy responsibility to the best and most qualified candidate, which I believe is what you are, Senator.

Good luck tomorrow… For the sake of many, many people.

Hillary Clinton
